Mornings with Ollie

Legos seem to be the genre of videos he wants to watch at the moment. It seems there are always some diamonds in the rough when it comes to 5 year old friendly YouTube creators. My favorites so far are QuietNerd, a, probably engineer, guy who makes battery powered camping vehicles, and Half asleep Chris, who’s a wonderful brit that does Lego builds and things with his cats.

Hardest part about having these things be in Ollie’s interests is the immediacy of which he wants to try to do exactly what he saw in the video. We don’t have these exact Legos, and I don’t have a surplus of steel tubing and lithium ion batteries to make a camper :/

It is nice however to see him interested in things that are also interesting to me, though I know inevitably we’ll be back to Minecraft videos and (carefully chosen) YouTubers that have absolutely no appeal to me whatsoever. Ah well. He’s happy, I’m happy.
